ENSEMBLES

concert bands

Ashley Ridge Bands will have three concert band ensembles in the 2025-2026 school year. Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble will meet as class periods and will have additional rehearsals outside of school. The Wind Ensemble features a smaller group of advanced musicians at Ashley Ridge High School.  All concert bands participate in SCBDA concert band events.

MARCHING BAND

The Marching Band will provide a means for uniting members of the Ashley Ridge High School band Program from the 9th through 12th Grades.  The marching band’s focus is to provide entertainment, school spirit and ‘state of the art’ contemporary program while teaching students concepts in leadership, responsibility and music education.

Membership

Membership is open to all Ashley Ridge High School Band Students in grades 9-12, as well as 8th graders who receive nomination from their band director.

Rehearsals

Marching Band rehearsals are held Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays during the school year from the beginning of school through the end of October. A Detailed calendar with all rehearsal dates and times will be provided to each student in the marching band as well as posted on the calendar at arhsbands.org

Performances

Marching Band performances are mainly in the fall season but special performances also occur outside of the Fall season. Regular performances by the marching band include pregame and halftime performances at home football games, local and regional marching band competitions, and parades.

jazz band

The AR Jazz Band is under the direction of Kyle Harvey and meets as a class during the school day. Students can receive honors credit after 2 years of jazz band enrollment.

COLOR GUARD

The Ashley Ridge Colorguard is a caption of the marching band and performs with the marching band at all performance events, which include local events, parades, football games, and competitions. The Colorguard enhance the performances of the marching band visually, with flags, sabres, rifles, and dance features.

WINTER GUARD

The Ashley Ridge Winter Guard programs are active during the winter season (November - April) and include Varsity and JV programs. These ensembles are auditioned separately from the Fall Colorguard and perform independently from the marching band. Competitions for the winter guard typically include various regional competitions and the CWEA Championships.
