The Pulse, V.II - Week of September 23rd

Good morning!

Please click here for this week's issue of The Pulse!

A couple of things:

1. We are so incredibly proud of the students on their performance this past Saturday at the Gus Moody Tournament of Bands!  We emphasized to them that, while the results were exciting, that their efforts, and focus, and teamwork over the past several months is what has led them to today and NOW we have to focus on where we go from here.  Our one expectation is that we are better than the day before.  That's it.  That's all we can control and that's all we can do is be better than we were the day before in every aspect of our life.  So we are thrilled for them and their accomplishments and look forward to seeing us grow more as a band, as a family, as an ensemble, and as a program!  We ARe!

2. There is a concert this Sunday, September 29th being giving by the Charleston Wind Symphony.  Mr. Pouncey and Mr. Bohl as well as other professional musicians and teachers (LOTS of DD2 teachers!) from the tricounty area are performing.  The concert is at 3pm in Lightsey Chapel at Charleston Southern University.  Students who attend will receive a free 100 playing test "extra credit" grade.  For tickets you may go to  http://cwssept2019.eventbrite.com/ and use the code cwsmember.  This is a great opportunity to hear a professional ensemble play wonderful music in a live setting!  You don't want to miss this!

3. THANK YOU so much for all of the incredible parent and family support this school year!  We cannot do what we do without the selfless dedication given by families, parents, and administrators who help ensure that these awesome kids have a positive experience.  From all of the directors, staff, and students - we are incredibly grateful!

Have a wonderful week everyone!  If you have any questions feel free to let us know!

Sincerely,

Ben Pouncey
