Oct 8th Band Blast

Congratulations to our Band Students on an EXCELLENT Performance on Saturday!

The Band and Band parents did great Saturday at our first competition of the season.  We had lots of wonderful help with moving the Band and Pit all over CSU in the sweltering heat of the day and every bit of that help was needed and greatly appreciated.

THANK YOU!

No time to rest just yet; another busy week is already here.

Thursday the B/JV teams plays Fort Dorchester we still need lots of help with concessions follow this link to sign up,  signup.com/go/pngkVBu.

Friday the entire band will dress in full uniform and travel to Fort Dorchester High for the football game.

Call time is

5:45 and the band will depart at 6:15

A meal will not be provided, so please plan accordingly.

Saturday, Oct. 14, the Band goes to Blythwood,(upstate a bit, so fingers crossed for cooler weather) we could still use a few chaperones.  Follow this link if this interests you (this is riding the bus to and back from the competition)  signup.com/go/sfXodKO.  Itinerary will be given to students this week.

We will need help moving the Band and PIT to and from the staging area again follow this link to sign up to help with this,  signup.com/go/MhcChEr.

If you can't do either of these or aren't able to make the trip we always appreciate extra hands helping when we get home.  We always need to unload coolers, make sure uniforms are hung up correctly, throw away the trash that is collected while away and other small tasks that need to be done before we can call it a night.  If you can spare some time while you are waiting for your child that night, please lend a hand.  These parents you see running around late at school after a competition are the same parents who started the day at the school with the kids and are as eager to get home and rest as your child is, maybe more so.

The Band could use some Gatorade, in the individual bottles, for the remaining competitions, if you can donate it would be greatly appreciated.

Next Saturday, October 21, is not only a mini band camp day but also our annual Trunk or Treat!!!  Who's excited...we are!  Parents, this will be a time where you can decorate your vehicle (the trunk area or the back of the truck) for Halloween and hand out candy to the kids.  So start planning your decorations.  More info about this day will come out later as well.
If you are interested in participating, please email Lisa Wagner at arhswaysandmeans@gmail.com.

The Car Wash pledge sheets went home with your child Friday.  Please start collecting those pledges and any donations that come your way. Pledge Sheets and money are due back Oct. 16.
Please let us know if you have any questions!
Thanks!
