The FUTURE is Bright....
Over thirty years ago, indoor winter band competitions were born. Some say, as an additional chance to showcase the performers' talents - others say, it was an effort to keep the drummers busy (and out of trouble) between marching seasons....regardless, Indoor Percussion has taken off in a big way at Ashley Ridge.
World Class Instructors helped develop the novice group into a competitive unit. Most members played their familiar instruments, while others took on new challenges - The bassoon player on bass drum, sax player on gong, the flutist on keyboard...It was an adventure.
On May 20, 2010, the Ashley Ridge Indoor Percussion unit performed "Lunar Nation" at the SCBDA Winter Ensemble Championships. In the show, the group claims a distant planet for Ashley Ridge. That day, the group also claimed the State Championship metals for themselves.
